Introducing our cosplay feature for the month of May – Othman, also known as Kratos of Saudi Arabia! Othman is a relatively new cosplayer who is making swift progress in the field of crafting.
His detailed armor and weapons have already made him the person people seek for crafting related commissions or advice. His God of War cosplay as Kratos won at Animania Bahrain in 2019 & was a fan favorite at Insomina Riyadh.
When not in cosplay, othman is a very impressive calisthenics athlete and also an MMA announcer! We sat down and asked othman some burning questions –
CA: You are a new cosplayer, tell us how you got started and what attracted you to cosplaying?
Othman: I liked this field from the point of view of getting into different characters, and I am a fan of fictional characters, and what motivated me to enter this field is the idea of personalizing the characters.

CA: Why did you select Kratos? What was the biggest challenge to becoming Kratos?
Othman: Kratos is a challenging character because he is physically demanding and I chose him because no one did it and no one thought about doing it.
CA: As a crafter, what tips do you have for others who are thinking to start crafting their weapons?
Othman: I would advise them to follow and learn from others who are specialized in crafting weapons and making props, that’s how I started learning by following others first and observing them.
CA: What is the easiest and most difficult part of crafting ?
Othman: For me it comes down to what I’m crafting. For weapons, the difficult part is the details whereas for Armor you have to build many things into one piece. But everything is fun, you just have try it!
CA: What is your dream team of cosplayers if you had to make a group with you at a contest?
Othman: A dream team of cosplayers for me would be Vegacosplay, cyd_cosplay , maul cosplay and ragegearprops. What would we cosplay? Something from Red Dead Redemption of course!
CA: What is your dream cosplay you wish to do one day?
Othman: I would love to do the character Death from the game darksiders! There’s just so much detail in that costume and it’s really cool!
CA: Who are your favorite cosplayers in the middle east?
Othman: My mentor Vegacosplay , kingcosplay , Q8_assassin and many more.
CA: Most memorable moment for you so far in your cosplay journey?
Othman: My most memorable & best moment so far was cosplaying as Kratos for the first time at Animania Bahrain. It was also a real funny moment as well because some people mistook me as the cosplay contest judge!
CA: What do you hope to accomplish through cosplay? Is it just to have fun or to make friends or to win awards?
Othman: I want to do everything to be honest, have fun with people , make some friends and I’m really happy about that.
CA: Your message to the cosplay community?
Othman: I admit that I’m new to the cosplay community but I wish everyone, the old cosplayers and the new ones in the community all the best of luck. I wish to meet everyone within it and make great memories and good times.
