9th January 2020: Middle East Film & Comic Con is back, and organisers Informa Markets are confident that 2020 will be the best year yet.

In 2019, MEFCC saw stars from film including Zachary Levi, Katie Cassidy and Benedict Wong, as well as stars from the comic book world. Now in its ninth edition, fans can expect big things from 2020, the celebrity line-up is yet to be announced however, Event Manager, Michael Lamprecht has revealed some of the details of what to expect.

“Anime and Asian Pop is top of our agenda for this year, our fans love it, and we’re working with some exciting brands and talent, which we will be announcing very soon” says Michael.

“MEFCC has had a revamp for 2020. This year, The Workshops will now be housed on the show floor and not the concourse. Each year we have hosted talent who have run incredible masterclasses and workshops, including David Angelo Roman cover artist of Rick and Morty, James Mulligan a fine artist at Disney and William Simpson creator of Game of Thrones’ three-eyed raven and artist on Judge Dredd, Batman, and Hellblazer. This year we are bringing The Workshops into the centre of the show for more people to enjoy and participate.”

“Also for 2020, The Mainstage will now be the centre of the show, hosting all celebrity talent, including fan questions, live music, competitions, as well as the annual Cosplay Competition, which once again will feature the UAE World Cosplay Summit where the selected winners will get the chance to represent the UAE in Japan at the finals in July.”

Merch fans will be excited to get their hands on exclusive Funkos, as well as figurines from Tsume unique to the UAE, limited edition products from Speedy Comics, and the Middle East release of anime statues from Tatsumaki Studio Limited.”

Last but not least, The Theatre sponsored by Manga Productions will debut anime, un-released films, premieres, and locally produced screenings.

Early bird tickets are now on sale for a limited time giving fans the chance to grab a 3-day ticket with a 48% discount. Tickets are now on sale at Platinumlist.net, Virgin Megastores online and all Virgin Megastores.
